Does this look familiar to you? It certainly seems it to me.
This image shows a group of 'hoodies', or 'youths'. As I am currently a mixture of both (I am wearing a black hoodie as I write this), I will tell you the full extent of my misdemeanors. You ready for this? Once I convinced my friend to pour some water out a window onto the head of a bald teacher AND I take pictures of myself trying on ugly outfits in shops. I live a crazy life. Seriously though, the idea that your age or your clothes dictating your personality is stereotyping. Obviously I'm not saying that if you meet a gang at night you should hug them or anything but just keep an open mind- they might just me some friendly lads who are trying to stay warms by huddling together, you never know.
One of the key issues of our time is paedophilia and kidnapping. I have a theory about who would make the best kidnappers- teenage girls. They say that it takes one to know one, right? Well as an example of a teenage girl I can tell you that whenever I'm walking alone, EVERYONE is a paedophile. As I walk around, I notice all the dark places where the lampposts aren't working (quite a few in my estate) and all the alleys which someone could jump out at me from. I also find myself analysing those around me- are they walking faster than normal? Is that person deliberately following me?
I do suffer the consequences of an over-active imagination. Once as I was turning into an alleyway there was a cyclist behind me following my every move I panicked and started to run and the cyclist called out "Don't worry, I'm not following you!" Another time, a man was behind me and as I reached the same alleyway, he sped up until he was right behind me, and said, "Your bag's open." So after events such as these, I have tried to conquer my fear my walking deliberately slowly through the alley, even when the lamppost isn't working, just to prove that I am not scared.
Much.
