I realised today that the phrase 'good morning' inexplicably annoys me. When I tried to find out why I came up with a few points:
- I don't like mornings. Ideally, my morning begins at 10 am at the earliest, although I prefer it to be closer to 12. Then I get up and enjoy my hour of morning (isn't an hour enough for anyone?).
- When someone says 'good morning' they don't, generally, mean what they are saying. I mean, do they honestly mean it is a good morning? That they woke up with a song in their heart and a spring in their step? I doubt it.
- It isn't clear what is meant by the greeting- are they saying it is a good morning; wishing you a good morning; merely saying hello?
Without morning, we don't need lunch either- you can simply go from breakfast to dinner. Lunch is nothing to me but a refueling, if I haven't been active, I don't need to refuel.
I don't know about you but I often don't even wake up until 7 pm. I'm definitely an evening person.
